The series, also known as Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken. Starts off with a bunch of tragic scenes that made it feel like a tragic anime. Firstly, it was a girl that has her town carpet bombed by what seems to be a world war II plane, and that’s it, it’s vague, and it’s hard to make any implications from it.
What happened next was the death of the previous body of our main boi slime (Satou Mikami). He got stabbed by a robber, and he also died a virgin at the age of 37 – poor guy.
Lonely thirty-seven-year-old Satoru Mikami is stuck in a dead-end job, unhappy with his mundane life, but after dying at the hands of a robber, he awakens to a fresh start in a fantasy realm…as a slime monster! As he acclimates to his goopy new existence, his exploits with the other monsters set off a chain of events that will change his new world forever! (Yen Press)
At this point, I don’t know what I’m watching anymore. A bunch of surrealistic scenes went on while the character on the screen goes through an existential experience. And then… Here come’s the slime. It suddenly becomes a cheerful, video game like series.
The main protagonist (The slime) comes in contact with a 300-year-old tsundere dragon which quickly made them friends – and that’s episode one.
I have not read Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken yet, but I get the feeling that it is going to be a fun “video game” themed series. But yeah, I have read some spoilers and I know that our slime will be an agender demon lord.
For the art style and the music, expect it to be the same quality as Infinite Stratos (Pretty good if you ask me) it’s because they have the same studio which is 8bit.
Will you be looking forward to this series? Or are you fed up of all the game themed anime out there.
